College Football 2013 - Week 7 Jabesblog Picks

Season Record:  102-86-2 (ATS) 147-44 (Straight-Up)
Last Week: 28-27 (ATS)  41-14 (Straight-Up)

You would think after my recent results I would give up.  No way!!  It is for entertainment purposes only...

WEEK 7 PICKS
Louisville 31, Rutgers (+19) 21  (W)
I am sticking with the underdog trend in the ESPN Thursday Night game.  Plus Teddy Bridgewater will likely be missing his top target.
San Diego State (-3.5) 38, Air Force 24  (W)
I think the Aztecs are finally getting it rolling and the Falcons defense is not in a position to stop that.
Arizona (+6) 24, USC 20  (L)
Let's try an upset special here...not sure what kind of Trojan team we will see
Cincinnati (-20.5) 37, Temple 10  (L)
The Bearcats have disappointed a little this season, but they are money at home
Oklahoma (-13.5) 48, Texas 24  (L)
Farewell tour for Mack Brown?
Michigan State (-9.5) 28, Indiana 14  (W)
The Hoosiers first road game does not go well
Virginia Tech 23, Pittsburgh (+9) 20  (L)
I was tempted to pick the upset, but I definitely think the Panthers play them tough off a bye week
Massachusetts (-3.5) 4, Miami OH 0  (W)
At least someone is going to win
Clemson 44, Boston College (+24) 27  (W)
With FSU next week, I feel like Boston College is improved enough not to look past
Buffalo (-12) 35, Western Michigan 13  (W)
The Bulls are trying hard to have me consider them in the MAC top-tier
Ohio (-17) 37, Central Michigan 10  (L)
I continue to try and avoid picking a directional Michigan school
Army (-7.5) 28, Eastern Michigan 17  (W)
Army is only 1-8 ATS in the last 9 vs the MAC, but they are against a directional school which trumps the trend
Maryland 19, Virginia (+7) 17  (W)
Without C.J. Brown, Maryland will need to call on their defense and running game
Connecticut 16, South Florida (+4.5) 13  (W)
Two more bad teams, I don't want to give points in this one
Duke (-3) 42, Navy 35  (W)
The Blue Devils are a very similar team to Indiana who the Midshipmen beat a few weeks back
Troy (-17.5) 45, Georgia State 20  (L)
Texas A&M (-5.5) 56, Ole Miss 31  (L)
I just don't see Ole Miss being able to keep up
Ball State (-13.5) 41, Kent State 22  (L)
The Cardinals have a lot of line trends working in their favor
Mississippi State 27, Bowling Green (+10.5) 24  (W)
The two-quarterback system may not work to Mississippi State's favor
Northern Illinois (-22.5) 48, Akron 17  (L)
A better line than last week in the Akron game, but I still like the MAC power
Texas Tech 33, Iowa State (+14) 27  (W)
The Cyclones are playing better and Tech has revolving QB's hitting the field
Rice (+2.5) 31, UTSA 24  (W)
I think Rice is the better team
Wyoming 43, New Mexico (+15.5) 35  (W)
Wyoming's defense is not good enough to support a bigger line
Stanford (-8) 34, Utah 20  (L)
Might be a trap game, but Stanford is 9-2 ATS in their last 11 road games
BYU 26, Georgia Tech (+7) 24  (L)
The Yellow Jackets need to save their season
Nebraska (-14) 41, Purdue 16  (W)
The Boilermakers are getting too much credit here
Missouri (+8) 42, Georgia 41  (W)
Injuries and Missouri's lack of brand name will catch up to the Bulldogs in an upset special
Baylor (-17) 63, Kansas State 31  (L)
They might not get to 70, but I'll still give you 17 until proven otherwise
LSU (-7) 29, Florida 13  (W)
I just feel it is time someone else expose Florida's lack of firepower
Arizona State (-25) 52, Colorado 17  (W)
It seems that Colorado's PAC-12 games will all resemble this score
Oregon (-13.5) 46, Washington 21  (W)
The Ducks are 10-0 ATS in their last 10 road games
UCLA 44, California (+24.5) 30  (L)
I think they finally made a line big enough for Cal to cover
Wisconsin 35, Northwestern (+10.5) 34  (L)
This line seems high...I expect a one score game either way
East Carolina 31, Tulane (+10) 26  (W)
The Pirates have not been a good cover in this line range
South Carolina 27, Arkansas (+6.5) 24  (L)
There is just something strange going on with the Gamecocks
Alabama (-27.5) 38, Kentucky 0  (W)
I think it is time that Alabama roll somebody
San Jose State (+3.5) 30, Colorado State 27  (W)
This one has the look of a field goal game, so I'll take the points
Arkansas State (-24.5) 40, Idaho 10  (L)
Michigan (-2.5) 34, Penn State 23  (L)
The Nittany Lions are starting to show some vulnerability
NC State 23, Syracuse (+7) 21  (W)
Houston (-9.5) 38, Memphis 20  (W)
UAB (-7.5) 33, FIU 17  (L)
Marshall 31, Florida Atlantic (+11) 24  (W)
The Thundering Herd are not a great road favorite
TCU 30, Kansas (+24.5) 10  (W)
Middle Tennessee (+6.5) 26, North Texas 23  (L)
Texas State 27, ULM (+6.5) 24  (W)
Boise State (-6.5) 23, Utah State 10  (W)
This line is underestimating just how important Chuckie Keaton is
Oregon State (+2) 37, Washington State 27  (W)
Tulsa (-10.5) 48, UTEP 33  (W)
UNLV (-9) 35, Hawaii 14  (L)

Record this week:  30-20
Season Record:  132-106-2
