College Football gives us 35 Bowls. Most are important for only two fan bases and the extra practice and development time for the participating teams. Without a playoff system, the bowls work in these ways, plus young men are rewarded for hard work by one more road trip, unless you are Hawaii, who hosts a game, which always seems a bit wrong. Are there too many games? Probably, but no one watches them all, so what harm is there in a Florida International vs Toledo game? I think the worst part about the system is the automatic tie-ins, which rob us of some more intriguing match-ups. Do we really need to watch Nebraska-Washington part II? Would have been fun to see Boise State vs a BCS school, say Oklahoma State, who is stuck with a fading Arizona team. The system is what it is. They give us 35 Bowls. Thus, I must pick 35 Bowls. Heck, I will even do the confidence thing to further embarrass myself, with 35 being my most confident. Shucks, I will probably have some random editorials as well.
